We have sadly learned that one of the club's honorary members, Jørgen Møller, has passed after a long illness on May 22 at the age of 85.

In the 1960s, Jørgen worked in the advertising industry, where he collaborated with a Bugatti-interested colleague, Hans Christian Rasmussen. The two became central figures in the founding of the original Danish club, 'Société des Bugattistes Danois'. Our other honorary member today, Erik Koux, was a driving force in the formation of the club, where Jørgen Møller became secretary. Like Rasmussen, Koux was an active Bugatti driver and became the club's chairman - 'Monsieur le President', which Jørgen with warmth formulated the title.

The club's primary purpose was to organize the first international Bugatti rally in Denmark, and the great efforts were made by these three Danish Bugatti musketeers, nicely seconded by other Bugatti enthusiasts such as Jens Nielsen and Jørgen Riber. The international rally in Denmark was held in 1966 and was a great success with about 25 participating cars especially from abroad.

Jørgen was a very good photographer, and thus documented the 1966 rally with a series of excellent color slides. At the rebirth of our club Bugatti Club Denmark in 2018, Jørgen generously donated these pictures from 1966 to the club's collection, and today they can be seen on the club's website under 'Galleries'.

Jørgen grew up at Christianshavn in Copenhagen, and for many years he actively participated in local history work, including taking a seat at the board of the Christianshavn Local History Association & Archives.

We will remember Jørgen as a modest but also very friendly and welcoming person, who gladly shared his memories and together with his wife Jette always showed warm hospitality at their home at Østerbro.

In great memory of Jørgen, we send our thoughts to his family.
